Celestia is the plane of the Light, a pristinely beautiful plane where love and holiness pervade its very essence. Angelic beings reside here ruled by the Holy Supernals of Celestia. Supreme among them is Elohora, Lady of Light, who believes all mortals have an inner Light of truth, beauty and love that must be fanned and encouraged. She is eternally forgiving and utterly pure and blessed. The Celestines are the guardians of Celestia and try to be true to these teachings.

At the center of Celestia is a reflection of the Pool of Stars, the Nexus of New Celest's power. White sands cover the ground here, while more lush and diverse landscapes can be found in all four compass directions, leading to the individual sanctuaries of each of the Supernals.

Notable Denizens

  • Frobellon, the Celestial Groom - Frobellon appears as a tall man with a mane of silver hair and lustrous bronzed skin. Though there is an aura of the angelic that surrounds him, he has no wings and wears simple clothes of well-worn leather. A heavy black leather belt is tied around his waist from which hangs a curry comb, a soft-bristled brush, various grooming picks, and other supplies of a common groom. A golden bridle is slung across one shoulder, and he constantly searches the skies above. He carries himself with great ease and has a gentle presence about him. For the sum of 140,000 gold, he will sell you a pegasus foal.

Landmarks

The Eternal Spring of Hope

Clear, sparkling water springs from a small hole in a sand covered rock, flowing in gentle streams along the white sand to seep into the thirsty ground. The gushing water laughs and leaps, capturing the brilliant light from the surroundings and giving it off again in a dazzling mist. All around the spring, small desert plants sprout up with vivid flowers, cherishing this chance to live and grow.

The Inner Sanctum of Security

Shakiniel's sanctuary is an enormous basilica that sits within a lush green valley surrounded by endless plains and tall forests. The halls of the basilica are devoted to various tools utilized by the forces of Shakiniel. None are more important than the shield, though, representing Shakiniel's most important tenets of safety and security.

The Inner Sanctum is marked by an immense domed ceiling looming high above the floor of the basilica, legions of archangels painted on it in glorious colours. Huge marble pylons are arranged in a circle around an ornately carved marble throne, each pylon crafted in the shape of a spear. Tower shields embossed with symbols of golden wings hang at intervals around the basilica walls. A few stained glass windows provide colourful light to the halls, as well as two brass braziers that burn on either side of the throne.

The Divine Court of Immaculate Judgements

Rows and rows of bookshelves filled with books and records surround the Divine Court of Immaculate Judgements, the sanctuary of Japhiel. A space has been set aside here for great debates, contemplating the many values held dear by those who serve the Holy Supernals.

At the far end of the Court of Japhiel, a commanding judicator's bench formed of pure white marble stands flawless in its carved perfection. On either side of the bench an ornately carved statue of Justice stands, each covered in gold leaf by the hands of Divinity. Rows upon rows of golden benches gleam before you, which comprise the seating of the witnesses of the Court. Hung high in rows upon the colourless walls, elaborate brass sconces flicker with eternal flames, bathing the Court in pure light. To the far right, raised upon a pallid marble dais, is the juror's box, where the fate of one judged would be discerned. A luminescent glow fills this place, where the truth of the innocent can be rightfully discovered, and where the criminal and unworthy can be sentenced with lawful Justice. A pedestal is carved from topaz, which emits a liquid golden glow. Upon it is a thick and heavy libram - the Blessed Libram of Holy Laws - bound with a silvery white material that shines and sparkles with an inner luminosity. A golden circle is inscribed on the cover surrounded by glyphs and sigils. An aura of truth surrounds this holy book, reverentially alighting its surroundings.

The Golden Forge of the Holy Flame

Found within a fortress surrounded by fields of combat and battle, the sanctuary of Methrenton presents itself as a magnificent fortress. Each room is filled with weapons and armour, pointing to an eternity spent locked in battle with the enemies of the Light. In the Hall of Celestial Honour, just outside the forge of Methrenton, statues of various heroes and crusaders throughout time stand as reminders of the lives that have been lost in defense of the Light.

Towering above all else in the fortress of Methrenton is the Forge of the Holy Flame, massive and spectacular in solid gold, curved and raised upon white marble. Torrential fires burn inside with dazzling white and red flames, throwing off a wondrous heat that doesn't burn but warms the spirit. It weighs about 416 pounds.

Comprised of many white bricks, the walls of this forge trap in all necessary heat for the perfect environment for creation. Thick iron smelting pots hang in the overheads above the forge, each filled to the brim with liquefied metals. Set on a nearby workbench carved of white marble are the many fine implements required for the forging of a weapon. A large iron anvil is set beside the forge, ready to be used. A cask of water is set beside the forge, for use in the cooling process of forming the steel. The crackling sounds of the furnace echo throughout the locality of the Golden Forge, along with the bubbling of the smelted metal. The space is filled with a kind of Divine warmth, a feeling of peaceful harmony that inspires the forger to work tirelessly at his creations.

The Glowing Arbour of Rapturous Adoration

Found relatively north of the Pool of Stars on the plane of Celestia, the Arbour of Rapturous Adoration is surrounded by the enormous trees of a lush rainforest, where fruits of every kind - even those not typically grown in the sweltering heat of the jungle - can be found hanging from trees in this area.

The purity of the warmth that is felt in this holy grove radiates through every stem of nature here, from the short grasses that grow about the base to the great leaves of the Arbour. Shimmering pink wisps of light encircle the Arbour, feeding off of its love and protecting it from harm. No more than a step away from where the Arbour grows, a patch of brilliantly-coloured yellow daisies grow within a small rock garden. A place filled with overwhelming amounts of life and vitality, this Garden is safe haven to all those who serve the Light, and is considered the holy sanctuary of Raziela.

The Arbour is an elaborate twisting of thick vines with glossy green leaves that have molded themselves into a huge dome. Lush and exotic flowers splash their varying colours and hues in a brilliant display of manipulated nature. Their scent fills the gardens, rich and invoking a lightheaded feeling of rapture. A pink glow surrounds the Arbour, invoking a love that warms your heart. It weighs about 3125 pounds.

The Throne of Brilliance

Every last building block of the throne room of Elohora is made from the purest white marble, and etched and decorated with layers of gold leaf. A myriad of carved cherubs and angels decorate the long columns that follow on either side of the golden rug, stretching to the throne itself. Rows of gleaming armour, shining with radiant light line the walls of the massive hall. The surface of the throne itself swirls with many colours, as vibrant as one could ever possibly see. The throne's carved surface holds many millions of minute details, each of them representative of the planes of Elohora. An enormous window of stained glass hangs above the throne, depicting an archangel raising a sword on high. The sections of stained glass cover the entire area with a rainbow prism of colour. The blinding aura of warmth and holiness cuts through every soul that steps within this place, the hopes and wishes of each of the Holy Supernals filling them.

History

While searching the Water Plane for signs of higher vibrations, an Aquamancer stumbled upon entry to Celestia. Soon thereafter, a number of Aquamancers split off from their guild to become guardians of Celestia, forming the Celestines.
