The nagasith have a complex history. Their ancestors were originally mugwumps of the [[Balach Institute of Magic and Science]]. As part of Project Touchstone, a precursor to Project Soulforge and Project Outreach, the mugwumps volunteered to be transformed in their body to withstand the rigours of a theoretical extraplanar space they were tasked to discover. Many perished in the experiments, but some remained in the caverns of Muhanlesh, only to be transformed further by the clouds of Taint unleashed by Project Cosmic Hope.
The modern nagasith are one of the breeds of the resulting creatures, the most sentient strain out of the numerous types of naga-kind produced by the amalgamation of Science, Magic and the Taint. Recently, a few relics of nagasith history as well as their mugwumpi origins have been discovered, allowing adventurers to glimpse what it is like to live as this strange, mutated race.
