Xyl was a member of the Fifth Circle of the Divine, also known as the Thinkers. He constructed an observatory high atop one of Lusternia's tallest mountains, later known as Avechna's Peak, and carefully observed the cosmos. He was the first to report the presence of the Soulless Gods as they moved towards the First World in the days leading up to the Elder Wars, and initiated the meeting of the Firsts to discuss how to protect Lusternia from the threat the Heralds of Magnora posed.
