The Nature Totem of the Moon Spirit is available to some members of the Serenwilde commune, and is the required totem of the Moondancer wiccan guild. Bonding with the Moon Spirit grants many lunar powers, some of which increase or decrease depending on the phase of the moon. Those with the Moon Spirit specialization may also join together in covens which afford even greater powers.

COVEN <message>

A coven is used to perform many Moon magics. To initiate, first FORM a coven. As the leader of a coven, you may invite up to 13 others who follow the path of the Moon* to JOIN your coven, and REJECT will dismiss the person if you wish to remove the member. As leader you may APPOINT someone who will take over as coven leader in your place if you are to die or leave the realms.

To see who is currently in a formed coven, you can view the MEMBERS. To end a coven, simply use DISSOLVE, or use LEAVE to exit a coven. When three or more coven members stand together, CIRCLE will have you and all other members of the coven present join hands in a circle, which enables certain spells and provides minor resistance for its members against unwanted summons. Some Moon magic can only be performed in a coven or in a coven circle. To speak to all members of your coven, use COVEN <message>.

If you have the squads ability in Combat, you can use MOONCOVEN SQUAD to convert your coven into a squad. A coven squad earns more bonus XP than a normal squad.

* Those with the Moonchilde Aura when the Moon Altar is active may also join the coven but will not count for Rage Covens.



Beam

Syntax
MOONDANCE BEAM <target>

Dance upon a beam of moonlight and travel to a target.

If you are a Moonchilde when the Moon Altar is active, moonbeaming will be much faster.


Light

Syntax
MOONDANCE LIGHT
Minimum Coven Size: 3

Regeneration: 1/4 ego

Your coven can bathe a location in moonlight, which will regenerate the ego (1/4) of all followers of Stag and Moon. The moonlight will disappear on the following dawn.

Also, this spell can be cast with a coven of only one member if the Moon Altar construct has been raised.



Succumb

Syntax
Power: 3 (Moonhart)

This ability will encourage your target to succumb to the majesty of Mother Moon. Until it is cured, their mental powers will be continuously drained. The drain will increase if your victim is suffering from any mental afflictions. Their mana will also be reduced if they start to suffer from any mental afflictions while the succumb is ongoing.

Changelog:

  • Moon Succumb will no longer drain mana when afflicting a target with a mental affliction they already have. (#1413 on 06-04-2018)


Aura

Syntax
Damage Modifier: 1/8 magical resistance

Surrounding yourself with the aura of the Moon will provide some protection against magical attacks.


Cone

Syntax
Minimum Coven Size: 3/1*

As the leader of a coven, you may raise a cone of power at an energy node and channel that energy directly into the Moonhart Tree.

*Special: If the Moon Altar is raised, a single Moondancer may raise a cone.



Waxing

Syntax
Minimum Coven Size (for moon ray effect): 3

The waxing light of the Moon will suffuse your body with its cool silvery glow. While your flesh contains the energies of gentle Mother Moon, you will naturally regenerate health at different levels and different lengths of time. It is at peak power during the moon's waxing phases and weakest power during the moon's waning phases. If you are in a circle with at least three members, this waxing glow might touch others around you.



Shafts

Syntax
Power: 2 (Moonhart Tree)

The changing and fluctuating nature of Mother Moon can be seen when she sends her shafts of moonlight down to a location. If she grants you such a boon, exits leading out of the location will mysteriously appear and disappear so long as this blessing lasts.


Shine

Syntax

Minimum Coven Size: Power: 4-10, depending on moon phase (Moonhart Tree)

Damage Modifier: 1/7 to 2/8 universal damage increase (see below)
Max Health Modifier: 1/8 to 3/8 bonus (see below)

To truly understand the nature of Mother Moon, you must understand the cyclical nature of moon phases. By bringing her spirit within you, you will shine forth with the light of the moon, the power of which will reflect each of her moon phases.

  • Waxing Crescent - 1/7 damage increase
  • First Quarter - 1/8 damage increase
  • Waxing Gibbous - 2/8 damage increase
  • Full Moon - 1/8 damage increase and 3/8 max health bonus
  • Waning Gibbous - 3/8 max health bonus
  • Last Quarter - 2/8 max health bonus
  • Waning Crescent - 1/8 max health bonus
  • New Moon - no effect

NOTE: This cannot be cast during a new moon. If a new moon rises while you have this defense, the defense will go into hibernation but re-emerge during the next waxing phase.


Waning

Syntax
MOONDANCE WANING <target>

The Curse of the Waning Moon will slow down your enemy dramatically. This power is most effective when the Moon is in her waning phase.

Additional Notes:
Afflicts with Aeon. During the waning phase, this will bypass the quicksilver defense.


Bluemoon

Syntax
MOONDANCE BLUEMOON <target>

The Bluemoon has a habit of bringing lunacy out of anyone. Striking someone with Bluemoon will afflict them with one of paranoia, hallucinations, stupidity, epilepsy, addiction, anorexia or confusion. Around the Full Moon, it will deal two afflictions instead of one.



Harvest

Power: 5 (Moonhart Tree) (per coven member)

Minimum Coven Size: 3

Dancing the Harvest Moon is only possible when at least three members have formed a coven. All members will receive an increase in experience during combat. The blessing will be lifted when the coven is dissolved or at the light of the next dawn, whichever comes first.


Full

Syntax
MOONDANCE FULL
Power: 4 (Moonhart Tree)

Bathing yourself in the full light of the Moon will heal you of a variety of afflictions. This is most powerful during the Full Moon. Members of your coven circle, if it has at least three members, may also be struck by a moon ray and enjoy its healing affect. It will also add a short prismatic barrier.


MoonBurst

Syntax

Can Target Denizens

This powerful spell will channel Mother Moon's power into your opponent, damaging them.



Resurgem

Syntax
MOONDANCE RESURGEM <target>
Power: 0/10 (Moonhart Tree)

Minimum Coven Size: 3

The coven may call upon Spirit Moon to grant life to a fallen person, though it will cost the coven leader power if not a follower of Moon or Stag. The corpse will be transported to you and immediately revived. If the corpse does not exist or is not in its natural state (i.e., fossilised, had last rites performed on it, etc.), the ceremony will fail.

Additional Notes:
Also requires being on the same plane as the corpse.


Dark

Syntax
MOONDANCE DARK

MOONDANCE DARK AT <target>

Power: 3 (Moonhart Tree)<br.

Power: 5 (Moonhart Tree) (Single Target)

Dancing the darkside of the Moon will bring the dark side of the moon down upon your location, afflicting your enemies with many curses and stripping away their defences. The duration of a dark moon will be longer during a new moon and shorter during a full moon.

Alternatively, you may afflict someone directly with the curse of the dark moon, and though this will not last as long it is useable through a Killing Moon.

Additional Notes:
Lasts 1 minute, ticks every 10s. On tick, even chance to strip a random defense or afflict. Afflicts with one of confusion, paranoia, stupidity, amnesia, hallucinations, pacification, or epilepsy when it afflicts.


Conclave

Syntax
MOONDANCE CONCLAVE
Power: 5 (Moonhart Tree)

If you are the leader of a coven, you may call a conclave, which will call forth all coven members to you. Coven members will only arrive if they are on the same plane and continent as yourself.

Additional Notes:
Has a short delay equivalent to beam.



Rage

Syntax
MOONDANCE RAGE
Minimum Coven Size: 5

Also known as being under a Killing Moon. Dancing until the Moon rages is perhaps the most awesome of the Moon's many powers, so much in fact that it will take a coven of at least five members to invoke. Depending on the phase of the Moon, coven members are able to cast the following spells on any individual who remains outdoors: WANING, DARK, and MOONBURST. This ritual must be performed outdoors in order to invoke the rage of the Moon. The area of effect is as follows:

  • FULL MOON PHASE: Anyone in the same continent.
  • WANING, WAXING: Anyone in the local area.
  • NEW MOON: Cannot cast Moon Rage.
Additional Notes:
Moonchilde members of a coven that do not have the Moon skill do not count towards Rage's minimum coven size.


DrawDown

Syntax
MOONDANCE DRAWDOWN
Power: 10 (Moonhart Tree)

Drawing down the Moon is the ultimate joining between lunar energies and those on the path of the Moon. You may only draw down the Moon at night when she is out. Taking on the Moon's aura will afford you mana regeneration (1/4), faster equilibrium recovery (1/3), and protection against damage (2/10). You will also be able to cast the powerful MOONFIRE spell against enemies. The damage is increased if you are wielding your talisman.

Mother Moon, wise and many-faced, shall grant to those who draw her down the ability to cast her own, azure flames against her enemies. The weakest to stand against them shall be the unclean and the unnatural, and they shall be burnt away.
