Races

Revision as of 01:46, 17 December 2021 by Hinic (talk | contribs) (Updated some links.)

With few exceptions, each of the mortal races of Lusternia carry a shard of divinity in them, having descended from the Elder Gods. During the Elder Wars, rather than be consumed by the Soulless Gods, several Elder Gods splintered their bodies and souls. These fragments became the mortal races. Though not all Elder Gods chose this path nor all mortal races came to be in this manner, it remains true that all Lusternians believe that within each of them is contained the fragment of a god. Thus it is said that the god-fragment within can potentially evolve through the cycles of birth and rebirth until perfection is achieved and the fragment is made whole, becoming a divine in its own right. Only once a mortal passes through the Portal of Fate is this potential unlocked.

Special Races

A handful of races are not available to at character creation and must be unlocked later through other means.

  • Gnome
  • Fink
  • Nagasith - plane-slithering mutants unlocked through assembling their racial curio set
  • Sileni - six-fingered musicians unlocked through assembling their racial curio set
  • Changeling - Less a race and more of a special state that is granted by the Changeling Cameo artifact. It isn't a race unto itself so much as a way to hide what race the cameo user is currently set to.
