Bards need instruments for most abilities in the Music skillset and its specializations. Tinkerers can enchant certain kinds of instruments for non-bards to use, in addition to being able to empower bardic instruments with etchings.

Types

Bardic instruments in the modern era seem to be universally stringed instruments: lutes, lyres, mandolins, violas, violins.
