Defenses are temporary bonuses provided to your character through the use of skills, items, or quests, and most will persist until you leave the game or die. Your own defenses are visible at any time by using the DEF command, while certain abilities such as Tristitia allow you to view the defenses of others.


Avoid

You are carefully avoiding the next targeted blow.

Avoid the next attack.

Balancing

Defences line:
You are balancing carefully.
Provided by: balancing (acrobatics)

Protects against being sprawled.


Elasticity

Defences line:
You are concentrating on providing your muscles with increased elasticity.
Provided by: elasticity (acrobatics)

Damage Modifier: 20 Reduce injuries to your body.


Falling

Defences line:
You are protected against falling suddenly.
Provided by: falling (acrobatics)

Reduce damage and lessen the chance of breaking limbs.


Handstand

Defences line:
You are standing on your hands.
Provided by: handstand (acrobatics)

Power: 3 Avoid physical damage. Does not protect against magical sources.


Hyperactive

Defences line:
You are hyperactive and moving very quickly.
Provided by: hyperactive (acrobatics)

Power: 10 Halves balance time for a limited period.


Hyperventilate

Defences line:
You are hyperventilating to control your breathing.
Provided by: hyperventilate (acrobatics)

Damage Modifier: 10 Protects against asphyxiation damage type.


Limber

Defences line:
You are extremely limber.
Provided by: limber (acrobatics)

Increases dexterity.


Tripleflash

Defences line:
You are dancing chaotically about, avoiding blows.
Provided by: tripleflash (acrobatics)

Power: 10 Increase an additional 50% chance to dodge any attack to natural dodge.


Aeonfield

Defences line:
You are surrounded by an aeon field.
Provided by: aeonfield (aeonics)

Power: 5 Enemies suffer from aeon curse & being time warped, though halves caster's mana/ego.


Alacrity

Defences line:
You are surrounded by a field of alacrity.

Power: 1 Temporal field spreads healing.


Foresight

You are using foresight.

Temporarily avoid incoming attacks.


FutureGlimpse

Defences line:
You are gazing into the future.

20% chance of avoiding any affliction& a 50% chance glimpse will fade.


Insight

Defences line:
You have insight into your own mind.

Provide some protection against some ailments of the mind.


Mindclock

Defences line:
Your mind's inner clock is synchronised with your body.
Provided by: mindclock (aeonics)

Immune from getting out of sync through aeon.


Switchfate

Defences line:
Your fate is switched with another.
Provided by: switchfate (aeonics)

Small chance that any damage done to you will transfer to an enemy in your local area.


Timelessbody

Defences line:
Your body is tempered in a time field.
Provided by: timelessbody (aeonics)

Provide some protection against some physical ailments.


Twirlstaff

Defences line:
Your body is surrounded by a nimbus cloud.
Provided by: staff (aeromancy)

Damage Modifier: 15 Protects against electricity.


Windwalk

Defences line:
You can walk on the winds.
Provided by: windwalk (aeromancy)

Walk in the air and resist winds on the Elemental Plane of Air.


Liquidform

Defences line:
You are a morass of liquid.
Provided by: liquidform (aquamancy)

Power: 10 Impervious to attack, and your body and mind will become greatly healed.


Watershield

You are protected by the power of the water spiritshield.

Damage Modifier: 15 Protects against cold and fire.


Whirlpool

Defences line:
You are swirling with a whirlpool of churning water.
Provided by: whirlpool (aquamancy)

Anyone in an adjacent water location may be pulled towards you
