Defenses

Defences are temporary bonuses provided to your character through the use of skills, items, or quests, and most will persist until you leave the game or die. Your own defences are visible at any time by using the DEF command, while certain abilities such as Tristitia allow you to view the defences of others.

Adroitness

Defences line:
You are moving at an increased rate of speed.
Provided by: Adroitness (Acrobatics)

Allows you to move a few extra steps before receiving the Now, now, don't be so hasty! message.

Avoid

Defences line:
You are carefully avoiding the next targeted blow.
Provided by: Avoid (Acrobatics)

Avoids the next attack targetted at you by another player, stripping the defense. Movement or aggressive action also strip the defense.

Aurasense

Defences line:
You are sensing fluctuations in your healing auras.
Provided by: Aurasense (Healing)

Balancing

Defences line:
You are balancing carefully.
Provided by: Balancing (Acrobatics)

Provides a chance to resist falling. When it works, the defense has a chance of being lost.

Bardic Presence

Defences line:
You have a bardic presence.

Weighted +2 to charisma.

Barkskin

Defences line:
You have skin covered in treebark.
Provided by: Barkskin (Nature) Damage Modifier: varies with skill level, up to maximum of 18

Protection against damage.

Blend

Defences line:
You are blended in the foliage.
Provided by: Blend (Nature)

Shrouds your movement and actions while in forest.

Beauty

Defences line:
Your ego is regenerating by virtue of the Ray of Beauty.
Provided by: Beauty enchantment (created by Enchanters)

Passive ego regeneration.

Blue Chakra

Defences line:
You have empowered your blue chakra.
Provided by: Blue (Lowmagic)

Prevents your communications from being overheard by other players.

Blur

Defences line:
You are blurry.
Provided by: Blur (Illusions)

Decreases your chance to be hit by melee attacks.

Breathing

Defences line:
Your body is prepared for a marathon workout.
Provided by: Breathing (Athletics)

Speeds endurance recovery.

Camouflage

Shrouds your movement and actions while in natural environments.

Changeself

Defences line:
You are under an illusion to look <race>.

Alters your HONOURS and LOOK descriptions to reflect another race, but does not fool all inspections.

Constitution

Defences line:
You are using your superior constitution to prevent nausea.

Prevents the effect of the Vomiting affliction.

Constitution Food

Defences line:
Your constitution is enhanced through superior food.

Weighted +2 to constitution.

Deathsense

Defences line:
Your mind is sensing the death of others.
Provided by: Deathsense (Discernment)

Shows when people die, but unlike Deathsight doesn't show where.

Deathsight

Defences line:
You are seeing death.

Shows when people die and where it happened.

Draconis
