Defenses

Defences are temporary bonuses provided to your character through the use of skills, items or quests, and most will persist until you leave the game or endure death. Your own defences are visible at any time by using the DEF command, while certain abilities such as Tristitia allow you to view the defences of others.

Adroitness

Defences line:
You are moving at an increased rate of speed.
Provided by: Adroitness (Acrobatics)

Allows you to move a few extra steps before receiving the 'Now, now, don't be so hasty!' message.

Avoid

Defences line:
You are carefully avoiding the next targeted blow.
Provided by: Avoid (Acrobatics)

Allows you to negate the next attack targeted at you from another player, which destroys the defence. Any aggressive action or movement will also end the defence.

Aurasense

Defences line:
You are sensing fluctuations in your healing auras.
Provided by: Aurasense (Healing)

Indicates when one of the healing auras you have radiated comes to an end, on yourself or others.

Balancing

Provides you with a chance to resist being knocked to the ground, although there is also a chance for the defence to disappear if it successfully blocks a knock-down effect.

Bardic Presence

Prevents your communications from being overheard by other players.

Breathing

Informs you whenever any player dies, and to whom or what. Unlike Deathsight, Deathsense does not reveal where the death occurs.

Informs you whenever any player dies, to whom or what, and in what room location the death occurred.
