Ninjakari (skill)

Revision as of 19:44, 16 November 2017 by Kagato (talk | contribs) (→‎Akogh)
The Ninjakari skill is learned by the monk guild of the same name in the City of Magnagora. They specialize in the jakari, a chain weapon that is swung to devastating effect, which is sometimes barbed or affixed with a scythe end, though the latter is rarely seen.

Jakari

Syntax:
KA JAKARI <target> <bodypart> RIGHT|LEFT (For players)

KA JAKARI <target> RIGHT|LEFT (For bashing NPCs.)

Kata: Action

Ka Weight: 75
Bodypart: Head, Chest, Gut, Rarm, Larm, Rleg, Lleg

The basic attack with a jakari weapon will do blunt damage and wounding. Note that while a jakari is wielded, the trained monk can still perform punches and other moves.

Jakati

Syntax:
KATA DEVELOP <form> MODIFIERS JAKATI
Power: 3 (Any)
Ka Weight: 0

When using your jakari to attack opponents, your weapon will shear away the defences of your enemies that serve to keep your weapons out. It will also boost your damage and wounds.

Boost

Power: 5 or 10 (Megalith of Doom)

You can now expend power for a temporary increase in momentum. Suppose you have a Kata form called SMASH and another called DESTROY. Normally you could string these together using this syntax:
KATA PERFORM ROARK SMASH DESTROY

If you do not have enough momentum to support the ka cost of DESTROY then you boost your momentum by a level for 5 power. You use + to do this. For example:
KATA PERFORM ROARK SMASH +DESTROY

You can boost multiple forms. For example, if you lack the momentum for both SMASH and DESTROY then you could boost both for a sum cost of 10 power with this syntax:
KATA PERFORM ROARK +SMASH +DESTROY

Finally, you can also boost your forms by two momentum levels using ++. For example, if you need two more levels of momentum to afford the SMASH form then you could spend 10 power to do the following:
KATA PERFORM ROARK ++SMASH DESTROY

Lastly, there is a level 6 of momentum that opens 1500 ka points. You cannot attain this level through normal means. Only through boosting can you get to level 6 momentum.

NOTE: This skill does not actually increase your momentum. It just gives a temporary boost. So if an attack causes you to lose momentum, boosting will not help you avoid the momentum loss.

Ochai

Syntax:
KATA DEVELOP <form> MODIFIERS OCHAI
Kata: Modifier

Ka Weight: 50

The brutal impact of a chain can break the flesh, causing a good amount of bleeding.

Ninchu

Syntax:
KA NINCHU <target> <bodypart>

KA NINCHU AIR

Kata: Action

Ka Weight: 350
Power: 1 (Megalitg of Doom)
Bodypart: Head, Gut, Chest, Rarm, Larm, Rleg, Lleg

This attack will increase your momentum level. Note that if you target the air then it will not be able to get you past initial momentum. You cannot target the air in a Kata form.

Gripping

Syntax:
GRIP

RELAX GRIP

While using this ability, you will prevent items from being knocked out of your grip. Relax when you want to unwield.

Ninshi

Syntax:
KA NINSHI <target> <bodypart>

KA YANK

Kata: Action

Ka Weight: 75
Bodyparts: Head, Chest, Gut, Rarm, Larm, Rleg, Lleg

This is a two handed attack using your chain to strike at the victim, causing it to coil around the part of the body struck. While caught in your chain, the body part will be too constricted to allow healing.

Dhatogh

Syntax:
KATA DEVELOP <form> MODIFIERS DHATOGH
Kata: Modifier

Ka Weight: 75

If applied to an attack on the legs, this modifier for the basic Jakari attack will trip your foe and possibly stun. The chance to stun increases with the wounds on the struck body part.

Bhaddogho

Syntax:
KATA DEVELOP <form> MODIFIERS BHADDOGHO
Kata: Modifier (Jakari-only)

Ka Weight: 75
Bodypart: Head

When striking out with the basic Jakari move, you can angle the jakari just right to disorient the target, causing a brief stun plus either dizziness or confusion.

Ninoaghi

Syntax:
KATA DEVELOP <form> MODIFIERS NINOAGHI
Kata: Modifier (Yank-only)

Ka Weight: 75
Bodypart: Head, Chest, Gut, Rarm, Larm, Rleg, Lleg

While your opponent is entangled in your chain, you may throw your opponent to the ground with a yank of your chain, proning and stunning the sorry victim.

Akogh

Syntax:
KA AKOGH <target> <bodypart> RIGHT|LEFT
Kata: Leg Action

Stance: Surge
Bodyparts: Head, Chest, Gut, Rarm, Larm, Rleg, Lleg

Head: Blind Chest: 50 bruising and converts to asphyxiation damage Gut: 1s balance loss Arms: Clumsiness Legs: Prone

Akogh can only be used in the 3rd action of a kata form.

Barbs

Syntax:
ATTACH IRON TO <chain>
Commodities: iron 1

Now your chain causes even more pain when you attach iron barbs. Those entangled in its coils will find their flesh ripped and torn to a bloody mess whenever the chain is removed from their body.

Ninombhi

Syntax:
KA NINOMBHI <target> <bodypart> RIGHT|LEFT
Kata: Action

Ka Weight: 100
Bodypart: Head, Chest, Gut, Rarm, Larm, Rleg, Lleg

This action does light wounds, including numbing a limb, inducing vomiting (gut), snapping a rib, and crushing the windpipe.

Ninughi

Syntax:
KATA DEVELOP <form> MODIFIERS NINUGHI
Kata: Modifier (Jakari-only)

Ka Weight: 75
Bodypart: Rarm, Larm, Rleg, Lleg

When striking out with the basic Jakari move, you can swing the jakari hard enough in an attempt to break the bones of the limb you are attacking. If your momentum has reached level 4 then you can crack the elbows (preventing parrying) or kneecaps (preventing combat stances) instead. PLEASE NOTE: There is a chance of breaking or cracking, and the chance increases as the body part becomes more wounded. This move will cause you to lose some momentum if it causes an injury.

Ninukhi

Syntax:
KA NINUKHI <target>

From an adjacent location or elevation, whip your chain about your target and drag them towards you.

Ninaali

Syntax:
KATA DEVELOP <form> MODIFIERS NINAALI
Kata: Modifier

Ka Weight: 100
Bodypart: Chest

Striking with great vigour against the chest can cause the victim to tremble uncontrollably with the potential to tire and wear out the victim.

Illgathoru

Syntax:
KATA DEVELOP <form> MODIFIERS ILLGATHORU
Kata: Modifier (Yank-only)

Ka Weight: 300
Bodypart: Head, Chest, Gut, Rarm, Larm, Rleg, Lleg

When yanking your jakari from grappling a target, you can jerk it violently to cause additional harm, including stun (chest), severed phrenic, sliced tendon, sliced open gut, or severed nerve (arms). It also will do lots of bleeding, especially if the jakari is barbed.

Ninini

Syntax:
KA NININI <HANDS|BODY>

KA UNRAVEL

Damage Modifier: 20

Wrap your jakari chain around your hands to improve their effectiveness in unarmed combat or wrap them around your body to give you a higher degree of protection. Note that while wrapped, you may not use the jakari chains to attack nor may you wield another. The chains may be unraveled for use in combat again.

Ninthugi

Syntax:
KA NINTHUGI <target> <bodypart> RIGHT|LEFT
Kata: Action

Ka Weight: 200
Bodypart: Head, Chest, Gut, Rarm, Larm, Rleg, Lleg

This action does moderate wounds, including twisting limbs (which cause constant deterioration to the limbs until healed), breaking the chest, giving dysentery, and fracturing the skull. It will cause you to lose some momentum.

Umubah

Syntax:
KA UMUBAH <target> <bodypart> RIGHT|LEFT
Kata: Action

Ka Weight: 200
Bodypart: Head, Chest

A well aimed strike to the head will cause your foe to suffer head wounds, including a fractured skull, blackeye, or even mental confusion. If aimed at the chest right below the head then it can wind the person, causing a brief balance loss. This move will cause you to lose some momentum.

Jakarikoghu

Syntax:
KA JAKARIKOGHU
Power: 5 (Megalith of Doom)

For a short period of time, you will violently lash your jakari chains about whenever you attack anyone. Those unfortunate enough to be your enemies will face being struck along with your intended target. However while in this state, the force of your attacks against your intended target will be slightly weaker than normal and those suffering collateral damage will suffer even lesser than that.

Oolibah

Syntax:
KA OOLIBAH <target> <bodypart>
Kata: Action

Ka Weight: 150
Bodypart: Head, Chest, Gut, Rarm, Larm, Rleg, Lleg

The power of this kick is strong enough to numb the part of the body you hit. Each subsequent hit will have a cumulative effect in numbing the body. The victim will find it hard to recover balance as the body grows more and more numb.

Constrict

Syntax:
KATA DEVELOP <form> MODIFIERS CONSTRICT
Kata: Modifier (Yank-only)

Ka Weight: 800
Bodypart: Head

When you have your jakari wrapped around the head, you can cause the chain to constrict briefly when yanking it free. This will induce a total blackout followed by general unconciousness. It also will cause some extra asphyxiation damage. The more wounded the head is, the worse all these affects will be.

Ashlamkh

Syntax:
KA ASHLAMKH <target> <bodypart> RIGHT|LEFT
Kata: Action

Ka Weight: 350
Bodypart: Head, Chest, Gut, Rarm, Larm, Rleg, Lleg

This action does very strong harm, including a shattered jaw, crushed chest, ruptures stomach, or damaged limbs. In the case of hitting limbs, you will mangle them if they are already broken. If you are unable to mangle, this move will always break the bone and either trip the target or sometimes force the hands to unwield. This move will cause you to lose some momentum.

Byahkari

Syntax:
KA BYAHKARI
Power: 5 (Megalith of Doom)

This sets up a defense move with your jakari chain spinning around you. Anyone who attempts to strike you will be stopped with an instant reaction. Your reactive strike will knock the target unconscious for a good amount of time. Note that any move you make will interupt byahkari.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Byahkari will NOT strike anyone you would not have been able to strike with a normal attack.

Ughathalogg

Syntax:
KA UGHATHALOGG <target> <bodypart>
Kata: Action

Ka Weight: 1500
Bodypart: Gut

This most powerful attack of all, a heavy blow placed properly on the gut while in the fluid motions of a kata form can cause the organs beneath the skin to burst. A quick death will follow if left untreated. Note that this skill does not function well when used independent of a Kata form.
