Harmonics was developed by the Matrix Institute after studying the cosmic plane of the Continuum. The Continuum is a 'dead' divine creche, meaning that whatever divine beings were born there have long since grown up and departed (as opposed to the cosmic planes with half-formed where the divine beings never fully developed--or as opposed to the cosmic plane of the Vortex where the divine beings had never formed). Researchers from the Matrix Institute have used the abandoned crystal creches to tap into the harmonic energies of the Continuum. They've also learned to harness these energies into gemstones. While this has given them very powerful abilities, it also ends up being very expensive as the Institute constantly looks to fill their supply of gemstones. Historically, this has led them to many conflicts (especially with dwarves) as the Institute believed that all gemstones should come to them for the greater good.
Harvest Master Crystals may be harvested on the Continuum Plane.

Harvest

Syntax:
HARVEST <gem>

With permission from a guild leader, you are able to harvest charged gemstones upon the Continuum Plane so long as you know the corresponding gem skill. For example, if you know the skill of Turquoise, you can harvest charged turquoise from the Turquoise Sphere of Flux Transmutation.

Turquoise

Syntax:
CRYSTALSPIN TURQUOISE
Gem: Turquoise

You can spin a charged turquoise gem around your head, which will create a field of protection which absorbs some damage.

Syntax:
CRYSTALPLEX

CRYSTALPLEX ACTIVATE [gem]
CRYSTALPLEX DEACTIVATE [gem]

The CRYSTALPLEX command will show you all gems that are currently spinning around you. Some gems can be activated or deactivated. While active, gems will slowly lose their charge until they are entirely consumed.

Syntax:
CRYSTALSPIN LINK NODE
Gem: Any

Travel to the astral plane and link to a wild energy node. This will automatically channel its latent powers directly into the Matrix. You can use any charged crystal gem to make the link.

GemAffinity

Syntax:
INGEMRIFT (INGR) [<amount>|ALL] <item>

OUTGEMRIFT (OGR) [|ALL]
INVGEMRIFT -or- IGR

Your affinity to charged gemstones will allow you to store them in an extraplanar rift that only you can access. The gem rift holds gemstones harvested on the Continuum plane.

INGEMRIFT (or INGR) puts a given number of a single type of gem (or all by default) into the GemRift. If no amount is given, then the first item found will be used (or the entire first group, if the first item is a grouping item).

OUTGEMRIFT (or OGR) takes a given number of a single type of gem (or all by default) out of the GemRift. If no amount is specified, then the default is to take out only one gem.

INVGEMRIFT (or IGR) peeks into the GemRift to take a quick inventory of what is stored there.

Jade

Syntax:
CRYSTALSPIN JADE
Gem: Jade

Spinning this crystal will create a harmonic field which regenerates the mana of you and your allies.

Resonance

Syntax:
CRYSTALSPIN RESONANCE <target>
Gems: Turquoise and Jade

Power: 10 (Matrix)

Create a resonance field between yourself and one (and only one) target. The field lasts for one Lusternian day unless you or your traget dies or you cast another resonance field to replace the previous one. A resonance effect will increase many harmonic effects that impact the target.

Garnet

Syntax:
CRYSTALSPIN GARNET
Gem: Garnet

Spinning this crystal will create a harmonic field which drains the mana of your enemies.

Mendingstone

Syntax:
CRYSTALSPIN MENDINGSTONE
Gems: Garnet and Jade

Power: 3 (Matrix)

Create a mending stone which will immediately release a healing cloud that helps to heal and cure yourself and all your allies.

Beryl

Syntax:
CRYSTALSPIN BERYL
Gem: Beryl

Spinning this crystal will create a harmonic field that regenerates the ego of you and your allies.

Balestone

Syntax:
CRYSTALSPIN BALESTONE
Power: 2 (Matrix)

Gems: Garnet, Beryl
Damage Type: Magic
Damage Source: Magical

A balestone has an extremely unstable vibration. Creating one will cause a temporal explosion, ripping your enemies with balefire which causes damage to their bodies as well as timewarping them.

Opal

Syntax:
CRYSTALSPIN OPAL
Gem: Opal

Spinning this crystal will create a harmonic field which drains the ego of your enemies.

Glorygem

Syntax:
CRYSTALSPIN GLORYGEM
Gems: Opal and Jade

Create a glorygem which will immediately release a cloud that refreshes the mana and ego of yourself and all your allies.

Onyx

Syntax:
CRYSTALSPIN ONYX
Gem: Onyx

Spinning this crystal will create a harmonic field that will sicken your enemies.

Convoke

Syntax:
CRYSTALSPIN CONVOKE <target>
Gems: Onyx, beryl, and garnet

Power: 3 (Matrix)

Manifest a powerful vibration that will attempt to summon the person that you resonate with to you.

Bloodstone

Syntax:
CRYSTALSPIN BLOODSTONE
Gem: Bloodstone

Not surprisingly, spinning this crystal will open up wounds in your enemies, causing them to bleed.

Amethyst

Syntax:
CRYSTALSPIN AMETHYST
Gem: Amethyst

This royal vibration will heal the physical body of you and your allies.

Emerald

Syntax:
CRYSTALSPIN EMERALD
Gem: Emerald

Invoking this strong healing vibration will cure ailments from both you and your allies.

Malefactgem

Syntax:
CRYSTALSPIN MALEFACTGEM
Gems: Onyx, Amethyst, Bloodstone

Creating a malefactgem will immediately release a cloud of negative vibrations that will afflict your enemies with a variety of ailments.

CrystalWand

Syntax:
CRYSTALSPIN CRYSTALWAND <type>
Power: 10

Gems: Special

You can create a crystal wand from either turquoise, jade, garnet, beryl, opal, onyx, bloodstone, amethyst or emerald. You'll need 10 of the type of gem you choose. So long as the wand is in your inventory, any crystal of the same type as the wand will have increased charges when spun.

This will dicharge a harmonic attack at the person.

Sapphire

Syntax:
CRYSTALSPIN SAPPHIRE
Gem: Sapphire

The sapphire vibration can pierce the mental state of any person, which can be a powerful weapon against your enemies.

Ruby

Syntax:
CRYSTALSPIN RUBY <target>
Gem: Ruby

Damage Type: Magic
Damage Source: Magical

You can spin a charged ruby crystal, which will attack with balls of balefire that causes damage and a slight timewarp. Unlike other gems, this gem spins around the target and follows him or her. However, there is a 50% chance the gem will explode (and do the standard ruby damage to the target one last time) whenever the target moves (unless target is resonating with caster in which case there is only a 20% chance). You can have multiple rubies (up to 7) around a target.

Diamond

Syntax:
CRYSTALSPIN DIAMOND
Gem: Diamond

The strong natural crystalline structure of diamonds can protect you by weaving shields intermittently around you.

Heartstone

Syntax:
CRYSTALSPIN HEARTSTONE <target>
Gems: diamond, ruby, sapphire

Power: 5 (Matrix)

You can create a heartstone of a person, but he or she must willingly agree to accept it (and cannot be forced to do so). Once accepted, the heartstone will merge with the person's heart and stay there for one year. YOU CANNOT SPIN A HEARTSTONE OF YOURSELF.

Syntax:

Once a heartstone has been placed within another, you can use it to resurrect that person. Though you can resurrect remotely and do not need a body to do so, note that you will be transported to your target's ghost. Alternatively, you can break the heartstone, killing that person immediately (thus, there needs to be a high amount of trust to allow another to hold one's heart in your hand).

Shatterplex

Syntax:
CRYSTALSPIN SHATTERPLEX <target>
Damage Type: Magic

Damage Source: Magical

If 7 rubies surround the victim (only 5 rubies if the target resonates with caster), you can detonate them for a powerful balefire explosion that causes extreme timewarp.

Spire

Syntax:
CRYSTALSPIN SPIRE
Gems: 10 turquoise, 10 jade, 10 garnet, 10 beryl, 10 opal, 10 onyx, 10 bloodstone, 10 amethyst, 10 emerald, 10 sapphire, 10 ruby, 10 diamond

Power: 10 (Matrix)

You can create a crystal spire in a location in the Continuum. If you are about to die on the Continuum, the spire will automatically drain itself of 25 power and protect you from death. The spire can hold up to 100 power and will last indefinitely so long as the creator uses it at least once in a Lusternian year. Also, if you are physically in an adjacent room to the spire, your health, mana and ego will be doubled (note this benefit is ONLY in adjacent rooms, not the same room as the spire).

To use the spire, the creator can check the status which will show how much power is in the spire. The creator can drain power from the spire into his or her personal power reserves or channel power from his or her personal reserves into the spire. The spire will generate power on its own, though it generates faster, the fuller it is and vice versa (much like the astral nodes).
