In the month of Klangiary, 232 years after the coming of Estarra, the Dwarves of Rockholm and Southgard celebrated the ancient dwarven festival of Klangfest. Not to be outdone, the Gnomes announced that it was also the date of their Scrapgiving celebration, a holiday which commemorates the murky bowels of early gnomish history. At the conclusion of festivities, the gnomes' envoy, Sparky Tooter, Keeper of the Tinatorune Secrets imparted the gnomish science of Tinkering to Llandros of the Cacophony for penning the jingle "Gnomish Grand Idea".

Tinkering involves the enchantment of horns, boxes, glasses and other similar items for various useful gnomish purposes. Tinkering is a specialism of enchantment, but it can only be learned by Bards well-versed in High Magic.

You can only enchant this spell on horns. It will cause more vermin to come to the room it is blown in for a short time.

Timepieces

You can now charge timepieces, which can hold 40 charges.

Tempo

Syntax:
WIND <timepiece> (once enchanted)

Bards will find their musical aptitude improve with this spell.

Additional Notes:
This increases the duration of a song.

GoldenHorn

Syntax:
BLOW <horn> (once enchanted)

Blow the mighty golden horn to raise your spirits high!

Additional Notes:
Cures ego, only on oneself.

Disjunction

Syntax:
BLOW <horn> AT <target> (once enchanted)

Blow the horn of disjunction to interrupt music boxes.

Revelations

Syntax:
WIND <timepiece> (once enchanted)

Sense what effects are melded into the demesne in which you stand.

Largo

Syntax:
ETCH LARGO ON <instrument>
Commodities: 10 Magic Ink

Using magic ink, you can make a musical etching on an instrument which will make roulade and major third more effective.

MusicBoxes

You can now charge music boxes, which can hold 50 charges.

EmeraldBox

Syntax:
CRANK <box> (once enchanted)

Lessen the health regeneration of enemies in the same room.

AzureBox

Syntax:
CRANK <box> (once enchanted)

Lessen the mana regeneration of enemies in the same room.

ETCH VIVACE ON <instrument>
Commodities: 10 Magic Ink

Using magic ink, you can make a musical etching on an instrument which will make major second, tritone, and major seventh take less equilibrium to cast.

BlastHorn

Syntax:
BLOW <horn> AT <direction> (once enchanted)

Blow the blast horn to knock down walls around you.

Additional Notes:
Similar to Doorblast.

GoldenBox

Syntax:
CRANK <box> (once enchanted)

Lessen the ego regeneration of enemies in the same room.

TrueTime

Syntax:
WIND <timepiece> (once enchanted)

For a short time, make yourself less affected by time-altering magic.

Additional Notes:
Slightly reduces the delay of aeon.

ENCHANT CUBE

You now have the ability to channel raw power into energy cubes, which can then be used to recharge any magical item or scroll. Also see HELP CUBES.

Additional Notes:
Each tick will drain 5% from your powerstones or reserves and add 5 charges to the cube.

RoseGlasses

Syntax:
ENCHANT ROSEGLASSES
Commodities: 2 powerstones (full), 20 gold bars

Once worn, the rose glasses will color the maker's world in such a way that consuming ego will be reduced.
