When viewing a skill page and wanting to edit a single ability, it seems logical for the contributor to click the edit link next to the ability's title. Doing this, however, takes the contributor to the edit screen for this template. Is it possible to correct this behavior so that the edit links send the contributor to the contents of that specific template instance instead of the template itself? | When viewing a skill page and wanting to edit a single ability, it seems logical for the contributor to click the edit link next to the ability's title. I guess this is a known issue. There is a wiki "magic word" (<nowiki>__NOEDITSECTION__</nowiki>) that blocks edit links at section headings though including that in a template forces that behavior on any and all pages that implement the template. There is a workaround where you replace <nowiki>==</nowiki> with <nowiki><h2></nowiki> HTML tags instead. See link (https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Editing_sections_of_included_templates) This would let the pages look the same but not produce edit links that direct to the wrong place. Do we want to try this? [[User:Hinic|Hinic]] ([[User talk:Hinic|talk]]) 23:34, 17 October 2021 (UTC) |
