Shallamar was known as the Higher Plane of Truth in the days of Project Cosmic Hope, and was ruled by King Gorgaliel the Peacemaker, the Supreme Holy Emanation. When Project Cosmic Hope occurred and the Taint was unleashed, Shallamar was irreversibly corrupted and became known as the Demonic Plane of Nil. The Holy Emanations were affected as well, becoming the Demon Lords.
