A denizen is the term adventurers use to refer to beings who have not passed through the Portal of Fate and are also not Divine. Though they are typically mortal, denizens tend to reappear after a day or so. This is perhaps due to a side-effect observed after the departure of Magnora where beings are not truly destroyed. (See Book of Orlachmar).
