Once a majestic and nigh-impenetrable clangoru fortress, the city of Grimkeep was built into the side of its peoples' sacred mountain. In its prime, the city was the home of Klangratch, Vernal God of War, and raised him through the Edifice of Power known as the Call of Stone.
It played an integral part in the Vernal Wars, for Klangratch often took refuge within its walls, at time offering that refuge to his allies. But it was this generosity that proved to be Grimkeep's downfall. When serving as a safehouse for the Vernal Goddess known as the Cursed Child, Grimkeep was assaulted by Great Muud.
Now it is naught but a ruin, its fallen defenders animated to life by the remnants of the Soulless's power.
In 575 CE it was uncovered by the Guild of the Horizon Walkers, who opened a route there through the Catacombs of the Dead. They now serve as guardians of the entrance, ensuring that none can stumble into the dangerous ruins blindly.
