Originally known to mortals as the Orb of the Forgotten, the Eye of Dynara is a divine object of power once lost in a battle between Dynara and Magnora.

History

The Eye of Dynara first appears in mortal history as the Orb of the Forgotten which arrived along with Hajamin when He returned to Lusternia in 154 CE. (Events #67) Hajamin exhibited a gamut of distressing behavior and was revealed to have actually been one of several Gods devoured by Morgfyre. What remained of Hajamin was using the Eye to remain the dominant persona within the Legion but at an unsustainable cost. (Events #68) The Eye was turned over to Charune in the aftermath.

In 548, Maylea successfully hatched a plan for two of Her followers to steal the Eye from the Temple of Nocht. (Events #438) In 592, Maylea and the Serenwilders attempted a ritual with the Eye to create a space for the kaelye to reside in the Basin. (Events #464) Nocht demanded the Eye back and poisoned the kaelye involved. Li-varili offered to mediate exchanging the poison antidote from Nocht and the Eye of Dynara from Maylea. Both items were given to Li-varili who relayed the antidote but absconded with the Eye. (Events #466) Li-varili attempted to use the Eye to Awaken the Sea Spirit, which caused seas to rage across the Basin and even beneath it in the Undervault. The Eye was shattered by some combination of the Elders and mortals arrayed against Li-varili and Her own desperate efforts to complete the awakening before She could be stopped. (Events #468)

Powers & Limitations

What follows are speculations of mortal Chroniclers. The reader should bear this in mind.

  • Drastic reshaping of natural environments.
    • Cannot be done alone.
  • Awakening of a Great Spirit by a single Elder where it usually requires many.
    • The spirit awakens unbalanced and ill.
