Between the Inner Sea and the Sea of Despair lurks this murky tract of swampland. Although not tainted itself, the influence of the Sea of Despair to the east has cast a pallor over the swamps, making them dark and potentially dangerous. Alligators, pythons and turtles reside in the shallow waters, whilst rumours talk of a mugwump village of long ago, whose villagers abandoned their homes under mysterious circumstances.
Inhabitants

- These migrated from Toronada Tidal Flats after the flood. (See Changelog #2576)
- They can be dug up from the beaches in this area.

- Might: seems strong and confident.
- deals blunt and cutting damage.
- a scaly alligator
- Might: is not one to be trifled with.
- a large python
- Might: exudes a quiet confidence.
- a hideously mutated frog
- Might: looks weak and feeble.
Boljo
- Might: is quite powerful
- Personality: Friendly
- Boljo, the mugwumpi scholar, is ailing and wants Orjojo to cure him so he can get back to his research. His research concerns the early human settlement that once existed nearby that vanished.
Ablojo
- Might: is quite powerful
- Personality: Friendly
- Ablojo, the mugwumpi excavator, is researching construction of the ruins of the lost settlement.
- Wants help catching frogs but needs alligator teeth to start off.
Orjojo
- Might: is quite powerful
- Personality: Friendly
- Orjojo, the mugwumpi researcher, is trying to finish an antidote for Boljo's ailment.
- Needs mutated frogs, but needs them caught alive.
