Ackleberry Forest

The Ackleberry Forest existed in the time before the Taint, one of three Nature communes formed within the boundaries of the great forests of the Basin. The denizens of Ackleberry, which consisted of furrikin and tae'dae, as well as a smattering of aslaran, loboshigaru, and igasho, worshipped Sister Lake and Brother Bear, and could often be found tending to the Elder Honeysap, one of the lost Nexuses of Power. Ackleberry was led by its High Elder, Wenella Lakeheart, the High Druid, Gib Gladheart, High Priestess Itara Solwen of the Lake Wood Coven, and Gadri Mossleaf, commander of the commune's military guard. During the onset of the Taint Wars, Gib Gladheart was abducted by Rowena Nightshade and Brennan Stormcrow, prompting the commune of Ackleberry to remove itself from existence altogether. By means unknown, the entire forest disappeared, along with its ethereal counterpart.

First reported in 161 C.E., a ritual could be performed within the Tolborolla Valley to summon forth the Daughter of the Rivers, a representative of the Great Spirit of Lakes, Rivers, and Falls. She shared a prophecy with those who completed the ritual, revealing that Ackleberry still existed and that the great Edifice of Power constructed there, known as the Elder Honeysap Tree, still lived.
