Archetypes are generic classes on which the specific classes of each city or commune is based. There are currently 7 archetypes in Lusternia: Guardian, Mage, Druid, Wiccan, Bard, Monk and Warrior. Classes are based on these archetypes, which determine what skills and specialisations are open to a member of that class. Ultimately, this translates to opening up three skills:

One Prime: The trademark skill of the archetype.
Two Secondary: Supporting skills that back-up the prime skill.

While there may be a common thread among archetypes, the classes themselves are unique, having different specialisations, philosophies and concentrations.
