When using your nekai to attack opponents, your weapon will shear away the defences of your enemies that serve to keep your weapons out. It will also boost your damage and wounds.
When using your nekai to attack opponents, your weapon will shear away the defences of your enemies that serve to keep your weapons out.

As an alternative, you can also add this to any form by prepending "=" to the name of the form. For example, if you have a form SMITE that you wish to use againt Roark then you would do KATA PERFORM ROARK SMITE. If you do KATA PERFORM ROARK =SMITE then it will automatically use this modifier with the SMITE form.

You can now expend power for a temporary increase in momentum. Suppose you have a Kata form called <tt>SMASH</tt> and another called <tt>DESTROY</tt>. Normally you could string these together using this syntax:<br/>
Boosting a form will give you a temporary 13/13 balance buff for that form only. You can add boost either by using the BOOST argument at the end of the form or appending '+' to the end for the form name.
<tt>KATA PERFORM ROARK SMASH DESTROY</tt>

If you do not have enough momentum to support the ka cost of <tt>DESTROY</tt> then you boost your momentum by a level for 5 power. You use <tt>+</tt> to do this. For example:<br/>
<tt>KATA PERFORM ROARK SMASH +DESTROY</tt>

You can boost multiple forms. For example, if you lack the momentum for both <tt>SMASH</tt> and <tt>DESTROY</tt> then you could boost both for a sum cost of 10 power with this syntax:<br/>
<tt>KATA PERFORM ROARK +SMASH +DESTROY</tt>

Finally, you can also boost your forms by two momentum levels using ++. For example, if you need two more levels of momentum to afford the <tt>SMASH</tt> form then you could spend 10 power to do the following:<br/>
<tt>KATA PERFORM ROARK ++SMASH DESTROY</tt>

Lastly, there is a level 6 of momentum that opens 1500 ka points. You cannot attain this level through normal means. Only through boosting can you get to level 6 momentum.

NOTE: This skill does not actually increase your momentum. It just gives a temporary boost. So if an attack causes you to lose momentum, boosting will not help you avoid the momentum loss.

When kicking, there is a chance to burst a blood vessel on a limb. The more momentum you have, the more likely it is to burst.
Changing stances now deals hemorrhaging. Hemorrhaging is an affliction that prevents you from clotting bleed below that level, or bruising below half that level. It cures over time.

Certain afflictions will give you bonus hemorrhaging if your target has them when you start your form. Boosting will also double your hemorrhaging.

You can now use the BURST word to convert all your targets hemorrhaging to bleeding. This cannot be done on full actions.

Syntax: KATA PERFORM <target> <form> BURST
Power:  2 (Master Ravenwood)

Afflictions: CollapsedLung, Disloyalty, Confusion, Dysentery

You can build up to 850 hemorrhaging on a target

If you burst a target with greater than 750 hemorrhaging, it will put them into a weakened state temporarily. During that time, using Finalsting will instantly kill them.

With this modifier, you will angle your kicks to ensure the poisoned dart is exposed and pierces the skin of the target. Note that you have enough foot control to ensure the dart does not accidentally connect without your explicit intent.

When throwing someone while locking a limb, you will break the limb and do more wounding damage; you will mangle the limb if the target was also prone at the time. This kick is meant to be combined with a poisoned dart inserted under your foot. If using this within a kata form, it will force the dart so deep into the flesh that it will avoid various immunities. For crotamine poison, it will also cause the poison to immediately start afflicting the victim at a very late stage symptom. This move will cause you to lose some momentum. When used outside a kata form, it is too weak to perform any differently than a normal kick.
If this action is performed while the target is in a weakened state, it will instantly kill them. See AB NEKOTAI KAIGA to understand what a weakened state means.

Revision as of 03:59, 11 November 2017

The Nekotai skill is learned by the monk guild of the same name in the Commune of Glomdoring. They specialize in the nekai, a one handed weapon that forms three (usually) claws. Their kata style heavily involves the use of poison, and generally causes significant bleeding. This is also known as the scorpion style of kata combat.

Nekotai (by Nazin)

Nekai

Syntax:
KA NEKAI <target> <bodypart> RIGHT|LEFT
Kata: Arm Action

Bodypart: Head, Chest, Gut, Rarm, Larm, Rleg, Lleg
Can Target Denizens
Stance: Base

The basic attack with a nekai weapon will do cutting damage. You will do more damage than other arm actions with this move. Note that while a nekai is wielded, the trained monk can still perform punches and other moves.

Nekreve

Syntax:
KATA PERFORM <target> <form> NEKREVE
KATA PERFORM <target> =<form>
Power: 3 (Ravenwood Tree)

Kata: Modifier

When using your nekai to attack opponents, your weapon will shear away the defences of your enemies that serve to keep your weapons out.

As an alternative, you can also add this to any form by prepending "=" to the name of the form. For example, if you have a form SMITE that you wish to use againt Roark then you would do KATA PERFORM ROARK SMITE. If you do KATA PERFORM ROARK =SMITE then it will automatically use this modifier with the SMITE form.

Boost

Syntax:
KATA PERFORM <target> <form> BOOST
KATA PERFORM <target> <form>+
Power: 2 (Ravenwood Tree)

Boosting a form will give you a temporary 13/13 balance buff for that form only. You can add boost either by using the BOOST argument at the end of the form or appending '+' to the end for the form name.

Gripping

Syntax:
GRIP
RELAX GRIP

While using this ability, you will prevent items from being knocked out of your grip. Relax when you want to unwield.

Kaiga

Stance: Base

Changing stances now deals hemorrhaging. Hemorrhaging is an affliction that prevents you from clotting bleed below that level, or bruising below half that level. It cures over time.

Certain afflictions will give you bonus hemorrhaging if your target has them when you start your form. Boosting will also double your hemorrhaging.

You can now use the BURST word to convert all your targets hemorrhaging to bleeding. This cannot be done on full actions.

Syntax: KATA PERFORM <target> <form> BURST Power: 2 (Master Ravenwood)

Afflictions: CollapsedLung, Disloyalty, Confusion, Dysentery

You can build up to 850 hemorrhaging on a target

If you burst a target with greater than 750 hemorrhaging, it will put them into a weakened state temporarily. During that time, using Finalsting will instantly kill them.

Sprongcree

Syntax:
PLACE <poison> RIGHT|LEFT

Stance: Twist High

Nekotai mastery over poisons has allowed them to ensure their poisons will enter the target's bloodstream.

Angknek

Syntax:
KA ANGKNEK <target> <bodypart> RIGHT|LEFT
Kata: Arm Action

Bodypart: Head, Chest, Gut, Rarm, Larm, Rleg, Lleg
Stance: Base

Head: Confusion
Chest: Epilepsy
Gut: 100 bleeding
Arms: Clumsiness
Legs: If damagedleg, disable parry for 5s, otherwise damage leg

Nekcree

Twist Low Stance

Bonus Effect: 50 extra bleed on target

Oothai

Syntax:
KA OOTHAI <target> <bodypart>
Kata: Grapple

Bodypart: Head
Stance: Twist

You can use your nekai blades to do a choking grapple. This move does more harm than a basic Kata choke would do.

Kaife

Syntax:
KATA PERFORM <target> <form> KAIFE
Power: 2 (Ravenwood Tree)

This advanced version of the urchin stance will regress you down a stance.

ScorpionStrike

Syntax:
KA SCORPIONSTRIKE <target> <kata form>

This is an attack that cannot be done as part of a Kata form. The scorpion strike is initiated from the room adjacent to your intended target. You then rush to your target, perform a single kata form, and then rush back from whence you came.

Burst

Syntax:
KATA PERFORM <target> <form> BURST
Power: 2 (Ravenwood Tree)

Bursting your target causes all of their hemorrhaging to be converted to bleeding. Additionally if your target has more than 750 hemorrhaging, their body will weaken for a time a few seconds after they are bursted.

This weakened state will allow you to use FinalSting to its full effect.

Ootalangk

Syntax:
KA OOTALANGK <target> <bodypart>
Kata: Grapple

Bodypart: Head, Chest, Gut, Rarm, Larm, Rleg, Lleg
Stance: Centre

This strong grapple has the chance to burst vessels if your target is bleeding enough.

Target >= 800 bleed, cure 600 bleed and 2 burst vessels
Target >= 350 bleed, cure 350 bleed and burst 1 vessel

Nektree

While wielding two nekai blades, you will be able to use them to climb your way up trees. You will also resist forced movement while standing near trees.

ScorpionTail

Centre Stance

By balancing yourself on one foot, and lowering your centre of gravity, you are able to quickly manoeuvre and trick your opponent. When you are in this stance and someone tries to attack you, you will use your free leg to quickly trip them if you manage to dodge their attack.

Effect: Knock opponent prone when you dodge their attack.

ScorpionSpit

Syntax:
KATA PERFORM <target> <form> SPIT

When you are struck with a poison, you can use your power of mind-over-body to send the poison from your blood and into your mouth. At that point you can spit the poison upon any target, afflicting the poor victim with the toxin. You only have the capacity to store one poison at a time in your mouth. Do not specify a target if you wish to just spit out the poison on the ground.

Angkai

Syntax:
KA ANGKAI <target> <bodypart> RIGHT|LEFT
Kata: Arm Action

Bodypart: Head, Chest, Gut, Rarm, Larm, Rleg, Lleg
Stance: Center

This move causes very serious afflictions.

Head: Blind
Chest: CrushedChest
Gut: DamagedOrgans
Arms: Sickening
Legs: Disloyalty

Oriama

Syntax:
KA ORIAMA <target>
Kata: Grapple Ender

Bodypart: LArm, RArm, LLeg, RLeg
Stance: Surge

This technique improves upon the basic Kata throw attack. When throwing someone while locking a limb, you will break the limb or you will mangle the limb if the limb was already broken. For locks on non-limb bodyparts, it will not cause any additional afflictions and will act like a normal kata throw.

Limbs: If Damaged, will Mutilate, otherwise it will Damage

ScorpionBlood

While you are holding venom in your mouth to spit, its presence in your body will allow the poison shrugging effects of Resilience to be more effective.

Creehai

Surge High Stance

The creehai technique puts more concentration on ensuring the poisoned part of your weapon or dart strikes deep, maximizing the exposure to the bloodstream and thereby reducing the chance it is resisted by the target.

Effect: Bypass Poison Resistance and Hide the first afflicted Poison

Ootangk

Syntax:
KA OOTANGK <target> <bodypart>
Kata: Grapple

Bodypart: Head, Chest, Gut, Rarm, Larm, Lleg, Rleg

Limbs: Restorative Ice

Sprongk

Syntax:
KA SPRONGK <target> <bodypart> RIGHT|LEFT
Kata: Leg Action

Bodypart: Head, Chest, Gut, Rarm, Larm, Lleg, Rleg
Stance: Surge

This kick will pinch a nerve, causing muscles to stiffen. This affliction, when used on the the head, increases lucidityslush balance; on the chest, increases smoking steam balance; on the gut, increases purity wafer balance; on the limbs, increases balance for applying restorative ice.
