Chieftain Nintoba witnessed a vision of the Taint in the days of the Project Cosmic Hope expedition, and was able to successfully lead a portion of the centaurs who lived in the Gloriana Forest to safety in the Serenwilde Forest. He returned to the Gloriana just as the Taint had been released upon the Basin of Life, using a mysterious moonstone blessed by Mother Moon to hold back the Taint long enough to rescue many of the centaurs who remained.
