The Pool of Stars is one of the great Nexuses of Power that exist upon the First World and have manifestations on the Cosmic, Elemental, and Ethereal Planes.

The waters of the pool reflect none of its surroundings but show only a dark night sky filled with radiant, sparkling stars, like the canopy of the heavens. Gazing into the bottom, there is a paradoxical sense of both a distant, curved, tangible boundary and yet a limitless depth. Small ripples on the surface of the pool send motes of incandescent light drifting upwards to the sky like dancing stars. A circle of smooth white stones, glittering and perfectly spherical, surround the borders of the pool. One stone is larger than the rest and has an inscription carved upon its surface. There is a strong aura of power and love that radiates from these holy waters.

Light essence can be gathered from creatures on the Elemental Plane of Water to empower the Pool. Holy Supernals are able to convert essence from other the other Elemental Planes into light essence.

History

  • The original Pool of Stars was created in Celest and was the first non-natural Nexus of Power.
    • Creating the Pool led directly to the formation of 3 guilds (the Aquamancers, Celestines, and Paladins) along with Celest's immense political prominence throughout the Basin.
    • The Pool was used to raise exactly one Vernal God, Princess Marilynth, who soon had to use her vernal powers to destroy it.
  • After the fall of the Holy Celestine Empire, survivors founded New Celest and constructed the Pool of Stars known today.

Trivia

  • It weighs about 3750 pounds.
