If the valuation is high enough, you can use it to trade with aethertraders who occasionally visit aetherbubbles and announce their presence on the MARKET channel. They will only trade a limited amount of items and you will have to compete with other merchants to find them.
Refinement is the process of increasing the valuation of a crafted item with another crafted item of the EXACT same craft design. This will combine the valuation of the two items into one item and can be done repeatedly until the valuation reaches a maximum valuation. You can also bypass this process by simply using gold to increase the valuation, though this costs 12,000 gold per refinement. Also, it costs 10 power per refinement whichever method is used. Refinement also increases the decay time on any item refined.
