Hunting is the skill that develops abilities to understand and catch certain animals and for surviving in the wild. After mastering the basic hunting ability, there are two paths of specialization that opens up, depending on the archetype. Druids and bards may specialize in Ecology while warriors specialize in Tracking. Hunting belongs to the Communion Lesson Pool. |

FishCatch
Syntax: |
CATCH TROUT |
With just quick hands and a keen eye, you are able to catch trout that can be found in the rivers throughout the land.
Camouflage
Syntax: |
CAMOUFLAGE ON/OFF |
When in a natural environment, you can camouflage yourself and hide from prying eyes.
Additional Notes: |
The shrouding will only be effective while in natural environments. |
Cluck
Syntax: |
CLUCK |
You can cluck like a chicken with great expertise. With nimble hands, you can thus easily scoop one up.
Soothe
Syntax: |
SOOTHE <animal> |
You can soothe panicked animals, calming them down.
Rustle
Syntax: |
RUSTLE <cattle> |
With a simple rope, you can lasso a cow or sheep and have it obediently follow you. This is a difficult move, but can be much more easily accomplished if you are mounted on a steed.
Further, as an expert rustler, you can easily dodge out of the way of bumbling cows to avoid bumping into them (as well as sheep).
Prints
Syntax: |
PRINTS |
By studying the tracks left by local animals, you can get a fairly good idea of what is in the area. This can only be done in natural environments.
Mimic
Syntax: |
MIMIC <animal> |
You can mimic animals found in the local area. There is a small chance that one of these animals may be attracted by your call.
Campfire
Syntax: |
BUILD CAMPFIRE |
With 3 wood commodities and a tinderbox, you can build a roaring campfire. Standing next to a campfire has a soothing effect that helps recover willpower and endurance.
SnakeCharm
Syntax: |
CHARM SNAKE WEAVE NET |
First, you must weave a special net to catch snakes in. This was a skill originally taught by dracnari beastmasters. You will need 1 cloth and 1 silk commodity, as well as a crystal egg. Once woven, you have been trained to adeptly catch almost any snake you encounter.
Additional Notes: |
Crystal eggs are obtained from one of the denizens in the Skarch Desert. |
Tent
Syntax: |
PITCH TENT BREAKDOWN TENT |
You must first commission a skilled artisan to craft a tent for you. Once you have a tent, you are adept at setting it up for a variety of natural environments. Just lay the rolled up tent on the ground to pitch it. Sleeping in a tent has the same benefits as sleeping in a comfortable bed.
Stalk
Syntax: |
STALK <person> |
While in an adjacent location to your target, you can set yourself up to stalk him or her. Note that you will immediately camouflage yourself and silently follow your target. Note that you can only stalk in natural environments.
Ambush
Syntax: |
AMBUSH SETUP <action> AMBUSH <person> |
First, you must set up what action you will do when you ambush a person. This can be a weapon attack or even a spell. Once set up, you ambush your target from an adjacent location, surprising him or her while attempting to carry out your action.
Pathfinding
Syntax: |
PATHFIND |
In some natural environments, mystic pathways can be found. These hidden paths can only be travelled by those who have been trained to see them, such as yourself.
Additional Notes: |
SURVEY to see where a path leads. |
Master
At this point in your training of Hunting, you have progressed where you must specialize in an aspect of this skill to continue learning. If you have not yet selected a specialization, see SKILLCHOICE LIST to see what is available. There may be a choice between two or more specializations.
