Fain's Elixir sometimes called the Soulless Elixir or Forbidden Elixir, was a treatment developed during the Elder Wars to heal and empower the Elder Gods. The sixth Triumvirate ruled consuming the Elixir to be a Rite of Abomination.

  • Described in the histories as a greenish fluid with a "heady metallic scent".

Preparation

Fain of the First Circle organized a coterie of researchers from the Fifth Circle to devise a way for Elder Gods to acquire advantages similar to the Soulless Gods. Using the essence of the Soulless God Erlechtoch, they created the initial batch of the Elixir. (Book of Loboshi)

Later in the Elder Wars, Fain secretly bargained with another Soulless God, Nemach, to exchange Elder God essence for additional Soulless essence to make more Elixir. (Book of Elfenehoala)

Effects of Elixir

  • Rapid healing, even from death or mortal wounds.
  • Ability to drain essence from other beings.
  • Hunger for godly essence.
  • Seemingly increased penchant for cruelty or decreased inhibitions.
