Between the burning brightness of day and the cloaking shadow of night lies a short period of temperate twilight, where day and night mingle together into one and contrasts fade into obscurity. So too it is with the Enigma, born from the unification of two Elder gods who were the opposite sides of the same coin: Elcyrion, the Erudite and Lacostian, the Mysterial Lord. It remains a complete mystery how this fusion of two Elders was accomplished; all other attempts have ended in disaster. This unique combination of two ancient star gods from the third and fifth circles has produced an Elder with such experience and insight that He thinks in ways alien to most other Gods. Combined with the mystery of His birth, this has led to Him being referred to as the Enigma.

Elostian teaches that knowledge, with the wisdom and aptitude to apply it appropriately, is the only worthy goal in life. Every experience teaches something, and all experiences should be questioned, investigated and considered in order for the mind to progress. Questions lead to answers and answers lead to more questions; it is not the answer itself that is important, but the road by which one reaches a certain conclusion. Once this road is mastered, there is no limit to what questions may be answered.

Through the unique combination of a Thinker and a Meditator, Elostian has gained new insights and as such promotes others to consider every event from all possible angles - not to narrow one's mind to a single interpretation. Rationality and temperance are also required; extremism clouds the mind, and prevents progression. Those unwilling to observe these rules will find the Lord Elostian swiftly out of patience.

History and Facts

Elostian came to be by the merging of the two brother Gods: Elcyrion, the Erudite and Lacostian, the Mysterial Lord from events that transpired on 162 CE. Lacostian was stirred from his deep meditation by sensing an odd phenomenon, later he realized that to be the fraying of the planes of reality. Calling out to his brother, Elcyrion, they both analzed the situation and set out to find a way to subdue it by utilizing the Labratory of Xyl, Xion. Lacostian later discovered that it was the nexuses of power, which were also acting oddly, that were causing the planes to fray. Lacostian asked this information to be relayed to Elcyrion; for Lacostian was trapped within the Akashic because of the fraying planes grounding down on it. Realizing his fate, Lacostian weaved one last great spell to construct a crystal spire to locate the Labratory Xion, before His essence was dispersed.

Once it was located, it was also discovered that Elcyrion was trapped within its security system by an error occurring with the use of the elemental crystals needed. Eventually with the aid of adventurers, Elcyrion was able to gain an amount of control over Xion and used it to set the planes back in balance. Because of this, Elcyrion essence was also dispersed and then by some unknown way even till now, was able to merge with that of Lacostian to create a new being: Elostian, The Enigma.

Elostian is the only known being to ever have successfully been created by the merging of two Divine. Cases before have lead to Divine going insane or even death. It is a still a wonder over how a feat was able to be done, but it is simply part of what makes up Elostian. Elostian has taken the knowledge and ways of both of his former selves, that of a thinker and a mediator and unified it into one whole.

Elostian is allied with Hallifax for, not only in the assisting of reanimating His form through their generator after His encounter with Zenos, but also for their views on logic and knowledge. Elostian holds enmity towards Kalikai, stating that he did not require Her assistance when he was in psionic battle with the Soulless Zenos, and that She simply interfered Herself in His workings.
