The ability to hex a person is an ancient mystic punishment. Simple and effective, it is performed by first drawing glyphs in the air of the hex you want to cast, using the syntax DRAW HEX <hex>. Up to six of your hexes can be drawn in a room. At this point, the hex can be activated by an enemy walking into the room where it is drawn (only one hex will automatically target a person in this manner). Otherwise, you would HEX <target> WITH <hex> to throw the hex at your enemy. Strategically, it should be noted that if you have time to draw hexes in a room, you can throw those hexes at a fairly rapid rate.

Control

Syntax:
HEXCONTROL <ON|OFF>

Sometimes you may not want your hexes to hit enemies who enter your location, so you can control your hexes to only use them for throwing.

Additional Notes:
Otherwise, a random one of the hexes drawn in the room will hit a personal enemy on entering. You can draw up to six hexes in a room at once, and only the person who drew them can use them. You can also use HEX DISPERSE to get rid of them.

You don't need to have the Discernment skill of Hexes to use the HEXES command to see hexes in a room.

Whammy

Syntax:
WHAMMY <target> WITH <hex>
Power: 1 (any)

This complex method of throwing hexes allows you to mask the effect of the hex.

Sense

Syntax:
HEX SENSE [ON|OFF]
Power: 3 (Any)

If an enemy walks into one of your hexes, you will be notified of it.

Push

Syntax:
PUSH HEX <hex> <direction>

You can push a hex into an adjacent location. If an enemy is in that direction, he or she will automatically be hexed.

Additional Notes:
If multiple enemies are present, a random one will be afflicted.

HexenThroat

Syntax:
HEXEN THROAT <hex>

HEXEN WIPE THROAT

Power: 3 (any)

With one application of magic ink, you can trace a hex on your throat. This is known as a hexen mark. This mark will empower your next yell to be heard by everyone in your local area, piercing into their very minds. Furthermore, all enemies who hear your voice will be afflicted by the hexen. The hexen fades upon use.

HEXEN LIST will show you what hexens you have drawn on your body.

Jinx

Syntax:
JINX <player>
Power: 2 (Any)

A jinx is a powerful curse that jinxes a person's body and turns it against them, causing it to resist their actions. This curse is only effective against victims with mental afflictions already plaguing them, and is negated by the time-altering effects of aeon (and similar curses). The more mental afflictions that the target has, the more pronounced the jinx effect at the rate of 10% per affliction (maxing out at 40%).

Jinx is cured with auric cures (such as reishi); however, it cannot be cured unless the afflicted is free of all mental afflictions.

HexenSoles

Syntax:
HEXEN SOLES <hex> <hex>

HEXEN WIPE <left/right> FOOT

Power: 3 (any)

With two applications of magic ink, you can draw a hex upon each of the soles of your feet. These hexen will remain inert until an enemy attempts to move you against your will. Your enemy will be afflicted by both hexen if they succeed, or come close to succeeding. The hexes will fade upon use.

Doublewhammy

Syntax:
DOUBLEWHAMMY <target> WITH <hex> <hex>
Power: 2 (any)

The ability to throw a double whammy at your enemies is one of the more advanced methods of hexing another.

HexenPalm

Syntax:
HEXEN PALM <hex>

HEXEN WIPE PALM

Power: 5 (any)

With three applications of magic ink, you can draw a hex upon the palm of your hand. This hexen will remain until you fling a hex of this type three times, after which it will disappear. With the hexen upon your palm, you will not need to draw a hex in order to fling.

Hexaura

Syntax:
HEXAURA [ON|OFF]

HEXAURA DETACH <hex>

Power: 10 (Any) [to turn it on]

Surround yourself in an aura of hexes. Any hexes that you draw after turning this on will become part of your aura, and will follow you as you move.
