The Nekotai skill is learned by the monk guild of the same name in the Commune of Glomdoring. They specialize in the nekai, a one handed weapon that forms three (usually) claws. Their kata style heavily involves the use of poison, and generally causes significant bleeding. This is also known as the scorpion style of kata combat.

Nekai

Syntax:
KA NEKAI <target> <bodypart> RIGHT|LEFT (For players)

KA NEKAI <target> RIGHT|LEFT (For bashing NPCs.)

Kata: Action

Ka Weight: 75
Bodypart: Head, Chest, Gut, Rarm, Larm, Rleg, Lleg

The basic attack with a nekai weapon will do cutting damage and wounding. Note that while a nekai is wielded, the trained monk can still perform punches and other moves.

Nekreve

Syntax:
KATA DEVELOP <form> MODIFIERS NEKREVE
Power: 3 (Any)

Kata: Modifier
Ka Weight: 0

When using your nekai to attack opponents, your weapon will shear away the defences of your enemies that serve to keep your weapons out. It will also boost your damage and wounds.

Boost

Power: 5 or 10 (Ravenwood Tree)

You can now expend power for a temporary increase in momentum. Suppose you have a Kata form called SMASH and another called DESTROY. Normally you could string these together using this syntax:
KATA PERFORM ROARK SMASH DESTROY

If you do not have enough momentum to support the ka cost of DESTROY then you boost your momentum by a level for 5 power. You use + to do this. For example:
KATA PERFORM ROARK SMASH +DESTROY

You can boost multiple forms. For example, if you lack the momentum for both SMASH and DESTROY then you could boost both for a sum cost of 10 power with this syntax:
KATA PERFORM ROARK +SMASH +DESTROY

Finally, you can also boost your forms by two momentum levels using ++. For example, if you need two more levels of momentum to afford the SMASH form then you could spend 10 power to do the following:
KATA PERFORM ROARK ++SMASH DESTROY

Lastly, there is a level 6 of momentum that opens 1500 ka points. You cannot attain this level through normal means. Only through boosting can you get to level 6 momentum.

NOTE: This skill does not actually increase your momentum. It just gives a temporary boost. So if an attack causes you to lose momentum, boosting will not help you avoid the momentum loss.

Gripping

Syntax:
GRIP

RELAX GRIP

While using this ability, you will prevent items from being knocked out of your grip. Relax when you want to unwield.

Kaiga

Syntax:
KATA DEVELOP <form> MODIFIERS KAIGA
Kata: Modifier

Ka Weight: 150
Bodyparts: Rarm, Larm, Rleg, Lleg

When kicking, there is a chance to burst a blood vessel on a limb. The more momentum you have, the more likely it is to burst.

Sprongcree

Syntax:
PLACE <poison> RIGHT|LEFT

With a dart and vial of poison in hand, you can dip the dart in the poison and hide it under your right or left foot.

Syntax:
KATA DEVELOP <form> MODIFIERS DART
Kata: Modifier

Ka Weight: 125
Bodypart: Head, Chest, Gut, Rarm, Larm, Rleg, Lleg

With this modifier, you will angle your kicks to ensure the poisoned dart is exposed and pierces the skin of the target. Note that you have enough foot control to ensure the dart does not accidentally connect without your explicit intent.

Angknek

Syntax:
KA ANGKNEK <target> <bodypart> RIGHT|LEFT
Kata: Attack

Ka Weight: 125
Bodypart: Head, Chest, Gut, Rarm, Larm, Rleg, Lleg

This move causes mild afflictions, including slicing a limb, gashing a cheek, puncturing lungs, and opening up the gut.

Nekcree

Syntax:
KATA DEVELOP <form> MODIFIERS NEKCREE
Kata: Modifier

Ka Weight: 100

Your understanding of poisoning is such that you can use your physical attacks in conjunction with a poison to increase the damage of your attack. Any strike employing the nekcree technique will also do more damage if a poison is induced.

Oothai

Syntax:
KA OOTHAI <target> <bodypart>
Kata: Action

Ka Weight: 350
Bodypart: Head

You can use your nekai blades to do a choking grapple. This move does more harm than a basic Kata choke would do.

Kaife

Syntax:
KA KAIFE <target> <bodypart>

KA KAIFE AIR

Kata: Action

Ka Weight: 350
Bodypart: Head, Gut, Chest, Rarm, Larm, Rleg, Lleg

This attack will increase your momentum level. Note that if you target the air then it will not be able to get you past initial momentum. You cannot target the air in a Kata form.

ScorpionStrike

Syntax:
KA SCORPIONSTRIKE <target> <kata form>

This is an attack that cannot be done as part of a Kata form. The scorpion strike is initiated from the room adjacent to your intended target. You then rush to your target, perform a single kata form, and then rush back from whence you came.

Nektree

While wielding two nekai blades, you will be able to use them to climb your way up trees. You will also resist forced movement while standing near trees.

Creehai

Syntax:
KATA DEVELOP <form> MODIFIERS CREEHAI
Kata: Modifier

Ka Weight: 200

The creehai technique puts more concentration on ensuring the poisoned part of your weapon or dart strikes deep, maximizing the exposure to the bloodstream and thereby reducing the chance it is resisted by the target.

ScorpionSpit

Syntax:
SPIT <target>

When you are struck with a poison, you can use your power of mind-over-body to send the poison from your blood and into your mouth. At that point you can spit the poison upon any target, afflicting the poor victim with the toxin. You only have the capacity to store one poison at a time in your mouth. Do not specify a target if you wish to just spit out the poison on the ground.

Angkai

Syntax:
KA ANGKAI <target> <bodypart> RIGHT|LEFT
Kata: Attack

Ka Weight: 350
Bodypart: Head, Chest, Gut, Rarm, Larm, Rleg, Lleg

This move causes very serious afflictions, including pierced limbs, liver damage, a severed phrenic nerve, or removal of the eyes. This move will cause you to lose some momentum.

Oriama

Syntax:
KATA DEVELOP <form> MODIFIERS ORIAMA
Kata: Modifier

Ka Weight: 500

This technique improves upon the basic Kata throw attack. When throwing someone while locking a limb, you will break the limb and do more wounding damage; you will mangle the limb if the target was also prone at the time. For locks on non-limb bodyparts, it will not cause any additional afflictions, but it will increase wounding damage even higher than it does for limbs. Upon a successful mangle, some momentum will be lost.

ScorpionBlood

While you are holding venom in your mouth to spit, its presence in your body will allow the poison shrugging effects of Resilience to be more effective.

ScorpionTail

Syntax:
KA SCORPIONTAIL

This is a defensive state based on shifting the balance between your legs. When you dodge an enemy due to a good stance, you will immediately respond with a sweep kick, knocking the attacker down. Note that it only function as part of a dodging move on your part, not if the attacker misses completely due to his own ineptness.

Ootangk

Syntax:
KA OOTANGK <target> <bodypart>
Kata: Action

Ka Weight: 500
Bodypart: Head, Chest, Gut, Rarm, Larm

While this grapple is in place, there is a chance for cures to fail for its respective body part. When on the head, it impacts sipping; the chest, it impacts smoking; the gut, it impacts eating; the arms, it impacts applying salves, potions, and medicinebags. This move will cause you to lose some momentum.

Sprongk

Syntax:
KA SPRONGK <target> <bodypart> RIGHT|LEFT
Kata: Action

Ka Weight: 250
Bodypart: Head, Chest, Gut, Rarm, Larm

This kick will pinch a nerve, causing muscles to stiffen. This affliction, when used on the the head, increases potion sip balance; on the chest, increases herb smoking balance; on the gut, increases herb eating balance; on the arms, increases balance for applying salves and potions to the body, and also touching Stag medicinebags. This move will cause you to lose momentum.

Spronghai

Syntax:
KA SPRONGHAI <target> <bodypart>
Kata: Action

Ka Weight: 250
Bodypart: Head, Chest, Gut, Rarm, Larm, Rleg, Lleg

This style of kick induces haemophilia and internal bleeding. The more momentum, the more bleeding.

Shocree

Syntax:
KATA DEVELOP <form> MODIFIERS SHOCREE
Kata: Modifier

Ka Weight: 200

The shocree technique seeks to induce more pain than normal. Although the pain does not do any physical harm, it does distract the victim from immediately noticing the symptoms of any poisons induced by the attack.

Angkhai

Syntax:
KA ANGKHAI <target> <bodypart> RIGHT|LEFT
Kata: Attack

Ka Weight: 550
Bodypart: Head, Chest, Gut, Rarm, Larm, Rleg, Lleg

This move induces poison relapsing. In addition, if you have level four or higher momentum then it can also cause a slit throat or torn tendon if used on the head or legs. This move will cause you to lose some momentum, more than normal if you manage to cut the leg tendons.

Sprongma

Syntax:
KA SPRONGMA <target> <bodypart>
Kata: Action

Ka Weight: 500
Bodypart: Chest, Gut

A sharp blow to the centermass of the body, this move can collapse the lungs (chest) or spine (gut). If you momentum has reached level 5 then it will also do bleeding: the more wounded the bodypart, the more bleeding. This move will cause you to lose some momentum and will drain additional momentum if delivering severed spine. It is not a very effective attack when used against the gut outside the fluidity of a kata form.

Amihai

Syntax:
KA AMIHAI
Kata: Action

Ka Weight: 400
Bodyparts: Head, Chest, Gut, Rarm, Larm, Rleg, Lleg

If you have someone grappled with your blades, the amihai move will rake the blades across the body. This causes considerable bleeding and ensures the venoms on your blades enter the bloodstream in a hidden fashion.

ScorpionFury

Syntax:
KA SCORPIONFURY
Power: 10 (Ravenwood Tree)

For a period of time, you will be riled up with the fury of the scorpion, giving you the physical energy to put the following modifiers in all of your attacks: nekcree, shocree, and creehai.

FinalSting

Syntax:
KA FINALSTING <target> <bodypart> RIGHT|LEFT
Kata: Action

Ka Weight: 1500
Bodypart: Head, Chest, Gut, Rarm, Larm, Rleg, Lleg

This kick is meant to be combined with a poisoned dart inserted under your foot. If using this within a kata form, it will force the dart so deep into the flesh that it will avoid various immunities. For crotamine poison, it will also cause the poison to immediately start afflicting the victim at a very late stage symptom. This move will cause you to lose some momentum. When used outside a kata form, it is too weak to perform any differently than a normal kick.
